The MAREA Collection, a women-led collaboration with St. Etienne Design Studio, features unique and sustainable furniture blending traditional and contemporary techniques, organic materials and personal stories. Each handcrafted piece is inspired by the enduring cycles of the ocean, energy, and life. My contribution was handcrafted textured textiles for the AXIST marble stand, the SOLSTICE lamp, and the AJAW mirror. Using an original, hand-made backless technique with organic, hand-dyed Guatemalan yarns—a nod to Evelyn, St. Etienne’s founder—we combined our skills to craft pieces that embody the collection’s earthy aesthetic and sustainable ethos. This collaboration, driven by international women creativity, results in meaningful, functional pieces that resonate with spirituality. MAREA launched its collection at the ICFF 2024 where we were honored to receive the American Society of Interior Designer New York Metro Best of ICFF Award for furniture, along with an article of our journey featured in the Fall 2024 ASID NY Metro DESIGN Magazine.
